In accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2020 concerning the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing,

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is tasked with administering government affairs in the field of public works and public housing to assist the President in administering the nation.

In carrying out the duties referred to above, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing carries out the following functions:

1. Formulating, establishing, and implementing policies in the areas of water resources management, road maintenance, drinking water supply system management, domestic wastewater management, environmental drainage management, and waste management, building management, residential area development, strategic infrastructure development, housing management, financing of public works and housing infrastructure, and development of construction services;

2. Coordinating the implementation of tasks, providing guidance, and providing administrative support to all organizational elements within the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing;

3. Managing state assets/assets under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing;

4. Supervising the implementation of tasks within the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing;

5. Providing technical guidance and supervision over the implementation of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing affairs in the regions;

6. Preparing technical policies and integrated plans for public works and public housing infrastructure development programs based on a regional development approach;

7. Developing human resources in the field of public works and public housing;

8. Providing substantive support to all organizational elements within the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing; and

9. Implementing other functions assigned by the President.
